Mr and Mrs John Gash are pictured here with Bill Ryan of Durapak Agri Ltd, distributors for Silclear in the Republic of Ireland. The Gash's have worked with Silclear milk tubing for 6 years and have recently kitted out with more fittings and liners - John is adamant he wouldn't use anything else now. |
John Gash who farms in Co. Cork, Republic of Ireland is astonished at the length of life that he has got from Silclear milk tubing.
' I was one of the first Irish farmers to get Silclear when it was launched here 6 years ago. It has been marvellous - very easy to use and keep clean, I'm still using it - so it has worked out so cheap!'
Just recently I visited John in Ireland and was very impressed at the condition of the Silclear in his dairy. The internal walls were perfect - the external slightly discoloured from dung over the years but John was not complaining after 6 years use!'
John told me that he thought 'the sleeves work extremely well, making a handle to work with -strengthening up that whole area by the claw end.'
Knowing the lasting qualities of Silclear has meant that John has bought Silclear fittings as well, namely butterfly valves and elbows. 'I fitted out my wash line as well - now my wash water is clear not grey!'
The Silclear range keeps expanding and with the liners now available, a greater surface area of Silclear as opposed to rubberware can be appreciated by all farmers.
John emphasises that the 'liners are very light to work with - I'm sure that if I can feel the difference so will my cows.'
